Why Only Four Days?

People ask us all the time, “Why are you only open four days a month?”

And the truth? That rhythm didn’t come from a business plan. It came from life.

When we first opened Baycreek, both Mike and I were working full-time jobs. We had kids to raise, bills to pay, and no safety net. We poured whatever we had left, our nights, weekends, and vacation days into making Baycreek happen. We’d literally use personal days from work just to unlock the doors for those four-day weekends.

That pace was hard, but it was honest. And somewhere along the way, it became our rhythm.

Baycreek isn’t open every day because it’s not meant to be. It’s meant to feel like something special, something we create with intention. Each market is a reset. We move furniture, restyle everything, refresh the clothing, bring in new gifts, layer in seasonal florals. It’s not just stocking shelves—it’s building a whole experience.

We do it this way because we want it to feel different. Like something you plan around. Like something you look forward to.

Four days might not sound like much. But for us, it’s everything. It’s time carved out on purpose. It’s family. It’s roots. It’s a reminder that good things don’t have to be constant to matter.

Thanks for showing up again and again. You’re a part of what makes this work, and we don’t take that lightly.
