Small Beginnings — How a 4-Day Dream Turned Into Something Bigger
When we opened our doors in November 2016, we had no idea what we were stepping into. We were both working full-time jobs, and the only way we could make Baycreek happen was by using our vacation days and personal time—just to open the doors for four days a month.
We didn’t have the money to hire a staff or the ability to be open all the time. So we made it work. We showed up, sacrificed our weekends, and poured every ounce of energy into those four days. Not because it was easy—but because we believed in what we were building.
That four-day format? It wasn’t some brilliant strategy. It was just the only option we had. But it stuck, and it became part of what makes Baycreek so special. It gave us the time to reset each month, to dream up fresh themes and create spaces that feel intentional and full of life. And somewhere along the way, that accidental rhythm became our signature.
Now, here we are, with two stores that feel like sisters. Each one carries different products and totally different vibes, but they share the same heart. And none of this would’ve happened without the people who’ve shown up for us over and over again.
We say this all the time, but we mean it with everything we’ve got: building something special requires sacrifice, and you made it all worth it. Your support, your excitement, your love for this little brand has grown it beyond anything we ever imagined.
Thank you for being our village. We’ll never stop being grateful.
